To use the “confirm your enrollment” option.

Select “upload documentation,” and upload acceptable documentation showing your status.

NOTE: If your verification is unsuccessful, you may be prompted to try another verification method. You will also receive an email describing why verification was unsuccessful, with guidelines for next steps.

You can use the following documents to verify as a First Responder:

• EMTs / Paramedics can use a state license, a EMT/Paramedic certification issued within the past 48 months, or an ID Card with their name and title on it.
• Firefighters can use an ID card with their name and title on it, a firefighter certification issued within the past 48 months, or an unexpired membership card.
• Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) can use a valid ID card that states their name and title, a pay stub that shows their occupational title, or a LEO certification issued within the past 48 months. Federal LEOs can use your SF-50.
• 911 Dispatchers can use an ID Card with their name and title on it or a 911 Dispatcher certification issued within the past 48 months.
• Retired First Responders can use a retiree ID card, retirement certificate, etc.

NOTE: We do not accept transcripts, department logos, business cards, emblems, or pictures of individuals dressed in uniform as a form of verification. All badges must be accompanied by proper identification. ID cards must show a valid occupational title, not Employee or Civilian.

It depends on the verification option you choose. Sometimes, you will be verified in just a few minutes; if a manual review of your document is needed, it may take longer.
Once ID.me has reviewed your documentation, you will receive an email indicating whether or not your status was verified, and guidance for next steps if verification was unsuccessful.

This is extremely rare for first responders who are active. All jurisdictions provide some kind of official document that is acceptable to ID.me. In the event you cannot provide us any acceptable proof of validation, we will be unable to approve eligibility.

Data security is their number one priority. They do not share information with third parties without their members' explicit permission. You decide whether or not you wish to release that information or to keep it private on a case-by-case basis.
